About

The Wedgwood International Seminar (WIS) was founded in 1956 as a way to bring collectors, scholars and museum curators together with the goal of studying and promoting the history and wares of the Wedgwood manufactory from the inception of the company in 1759 through the present day.

The group holds annual Seminars which include a series of lectures given by top ceramics scholars as well as visits to museums and private collections. Lectures are subsequently brought together in the Proceedings of each Seminar, published annually. Today the WIS is the oldest and largest Wedgwood collecting organization in the United States.
