Oh dear – so I too was the bearer of sad news. Audrey had a stroke just before last Christmas, and then (according to the information we received), experienced a short illness, only a few weeks ago, and died in hospital The funeral service was held in her local parish church. Audrey was both charming and scholarly – it was only her ongoing health problems that prevented her from attending Friends meetings here at the Museum. Sad days indeed.

DUDSON (Audrey Margaret) NEE HAMILTON Peacefully after a short illness on Tuesday September 7th, 2010 at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire, Audrey, aged 88 years, the devoted wife of the late Derek Dudson and dearly loved mother of Ian, Paul and Max. Audrey will be sadly missed by all her family and fondly remembered by her many friends. Funeral service at St Chad's Parish Church, Longsdon, nr Leek, ST9 9QF, on Monday September 20th, 2010 at 11am followed by cremation at Carmountside Crematorium.
